SPP 1840
Quantum Dynamics in Tailored Intense Fields (QUTIF)

By combining the experimental and theoretical expertise of optics, quantum dynamics and chemistry, the priority programme “SPP 1840 – Quantum Dynamics in Tailored Intense Fields (QUTIF)” aims to exploit and delevop the potential of new laser sources. The main focus of ongoing research is set on milestones such as the control and observation of subfemtosecond charge migration or the laser-based recognition and manipulation of chiral molecules. In this way, the programme reflects on fundamental questions in atomic physics, the investigation of molecular physics in strong controlled fields, the development of new applications in ultrafast chemistry and the expansion of strong-field quantum dynamics to new media.
