The Center for Energy and Environmental Chemistry Jena (CEEC Jena) is a joint initiative of the Friedrich Schiller University and the cooperating Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS Hermsdorf/Dresden). The interfacultary center combines academic basic research and application-oriented research and development in the field of energy and environmental science. Currently, the main focus of the research lies on new materials like polymers, carbon-based materials, ceramics and glasses for energy storage systems . The next generation of batteries is developed.
